I'm sure fans of the novel will be greatly disappointed.
The Chronicles from book three onwards (or maybe book two, can't remember) is a muddy rehash of intrigue and innuendo, very hard to read. I haven't read the whole universe. For the film, I have high hopes.
The foundation is quite varied, especially the related adaptations of Asimov are very good. It's understandable that there will be dissatisfaction among fans, but it should be watchable.
