What's new in MetaTrader 4 and MQL4 - big changes on the way - page 41

Renat:

There is no need to go off to the side.

You have stated your point quite clearly, trying to present to the public that "the platform is not made for the trader". I have made it equally clear - it is not. No need to make knowingly false statements and everything will be fine.

Rannev has made his choices, which I believe are flawed. His reasons are not true (to criticize MT4 when he had MT5 in his hands without the criticized problems), just mistrust played a cruel joke.

Renat, you need to understand one more thing. No matter how good MT5 or MT4, or anything else, I won't put myself on something that hundreds of brokers might have in a couple of months. I don't want that, I'd rather get out of the business altogether. I won't be like everyone else, I don't want to do business marketing, I want to do it as an individual. I don't want it to be like everyone else.

To criticise MT4 when he had MT5 in his hands without the criticised problems

I hope you are not offended by the criticism of MT4?

Yes, MT5 without the problems voiced, but also without the demand in Russia. Would you argue with that?

Rann:
Of course you do. Actually, to be honest, I don't understand what you mean. We have a market company, we are not afraid of arbitrageurs, we are even happy to have them, but we will not, with a high degree of probability, be able to make money with them. Unless, of course, you are talking about a demo or gkfx.com.
Whose is gkfx.com?

Rann:
Renat, there's one more thing you need to understand. No matter how good MT5 or MT4 or whatever, I won't put myself on something that hundreds of brokers might have in a couple of months. I don't want that, I'd rather get out of the business altogether. I won't be like everyone else, I don't want to do business marketing, I want to do it as an individual. Because at the root of your solution is technozood.

And the technozoom of a non-specialised company always loses out to a specialised one.

Brokerage companies are not capable of making retail software. Becoffice sawing yes, but when going public almost all of them (and I have seen them and talked to a lot of them) get "minus NN million over 3 years and fail". For investors of companies, the result can be discouraging "guys, why have we spent a shitload of millions and Metakvotes is selling for pennies??? you promised that the budget would be reasonable and the time frame 6-12 months, but you have already spent 3 years and 3-5-10 million!".

Brokers, using specialised and mass-market systems, are trapped in the perception of "yes all the infrastructure is easily and cheaply available like in a supermarket". When they try to replicate it, they go out into a clear field with a shovel, scratch their heads and get suspicious of something.

The functionality of what you are doing was already in MT5 when the decision was made. If there was a strong need, it was enough to write new gateways using the Gateway API in addition to the existing ones. At the moment, it turns out that you are wasting your resources on reinventing the wheel, while other companies get similar and better solutions automatically and for free.

This is how mass-produced products periodically nullify custom solutions in different industries.

It's my job to listen to criticism.

Of course I will. Of the Russian brokers, Alfabank and VTB launched MT5 two years ago and are actively developing. Two years ago. About 20 more brokers on MT5 are quietly working in the Russian sector, actively gaining clientele. And among them there are people well known to you (not Alpari) who you haven't asked and who are likely to make a surprised look.

Unfortunately, many brokers fooled themselves and stayed with the old solution. Some of them have simply decided to stall progress by actively supporting the myth that "you can't live without locks". It's much easier to play the game of "why should the market change, it will bring me certain costs, I'd rather support the protest. let things stay the same". And they supported it as much as they could. For they operated on short-term effects.

We have converted MetaQuotes History Center for MetaTrader 4 to M1 history from MetaTrader 5.

The quality of the history has been seriously improved - please download updates via History Center (F2) in MetaTrader 4 terminal.

Work on the history is continuing.

Meaning this "feature"

It's a bin editor for the wall newspaper. It only means what it says.

Unfortunately, many brokers have cheated themselves and stayed with the old solution. Some of them have trivially decided to stall progress by actively supporting the "you can't live without locks" myth. And why don't potential clients on my forums hardly ever ask for MT5? Or do you think that those who need it don't go through the forums? Are you sure that if I introduce MT5, I will have a larger client base on it than on MT4?

Renat:

The functionality of what you are doing was already in MT5 at the time of the decision.

Was there client matching? Were the limits affecting the spread? That's the main thing for me.
