If you know where the trend is, you'll make a profit without the grid, but if you don't guess, you're screwed. I've already written many times how I got from 50 to 300 quid in two directions at once on a 25 point grid in 2008. I was very glad of it, but then I went down sharply, everything flew away. The grid is good as a tool, it is an element of strategy. You need to know when to turn it on and when to turn it off.
I am saying that in a prolonged trend it is enough to turn it on once.
