If you compare it to developed European countries, yes. But is it worth comparing with them? We have always been and will always be lagging behind them. But if we compare with the standard of living under socialism, there are shifts for the better. Of course, we would like to see these shifts happen faster, as in some countries, but our "economic miracle" has not happened yet or is happening so slowly that we do not notice it. Apparently not the fate or the wrong mentality.

Yeah, right. It's a long way from Russia's economic miracle.

ULAD:
Yeah, right. It's a long way from Russia's economic miracle.
They once taught the Japanese how to build ships, they turned out to be capable pupils. In the Russo-Japanese War, the ships were already better than ours. And now they are the first in the world in robots.

moskitman:

... well, or unknowable patterns.

As you say there "you will laugh a long time", but only a human decision is truly random, (even though it seems to us to be a natural one) everything else is just an unrecognised pattern.
For example, with sufficient input data and sufficient computational power it is possible to calculate even the pattern of the first drops of the nearest rain on your window. Because the motion of each droplet of water is described solely by the laws of physics and nothing else. In contrast to the workings of the brain, which is still unknown how it works and even its owner is sometimes unclear on what basis he has made this or that decision. This is especially true of such notions as "at random", "out of spite", "in spite of everything" and the like.

I do not believe in an earthly origin of life, there are too many regularities to invent and implement in 5 billion years. Apparently a capsule of basic regularities has been dropped, at least the genetic ones, no more. Suppose physically life could have appeared by chance, but what about the logic of that life, which is no less complex than life itself, don't you think?

With whatever we compare the current state of affairs, they (things) are very bad.

We are keeping afloat today only by selling oil, which has risen 20-fold in the last 15 years.

We have nothing else . Everything is in decline.

If there is no oil or the price goes down, we are fucked...

Whatever we compare the current state of affairs to, it is pretty much as bad as it gets.

The only thing keeping us afloat today is the sale of oil, which has risen 20-fold in the last 15 years.

If there is no oil or the price goes down, we're screwed...

This is the paradox of the last century, Russia has always been ahead of the world, I think conditions are being created for it to regain its rightful place, it just needs time to catch up. We made a mess of things by not sorting out social laws, so we need ten times more time to put things right. The only thing relevant to Russians now is to pounce on women and not let them protect themselves. The rest will add up.

Well, the simplest gene chains most likely came to earth with the meteorites, only not in capsules but in bacteria.

Temporarily abolish Article 131 of the Criminal Code ? ))))

What do you mean by kerdish? Russia is not going anywhere. The price of oil has already fallen and it led to the communists leaving power. Another fall will of course lead to a worsening of life, but it could also bring new progressives into power who can modernise the economy.

I wonder what would happen if Russia had no oil or gas at all.
