[Branch closed!] EURUSD - Trends, Forecasts and Consequences (Episode 4) - page 322

The news is sad, but it seems to have played out )))) At the end of this hour we can start selling the pound )))

The most important event of the coming week will undoubtedly be the meeting of the US Federal Open Market Committee and Bernanke's subsequent press conference. The meeting will determine the main monetary policy guidelines for the near future and set the federal funds rate. There is no doubt in anyone's mind that the rate will be kept at the same level. Introducing a third quantitative easing programme now, just after QE2 is over, would be a mauvais ton. The key question is whether the current second quantitative easing programme will be extended in any way. (A verbal equivocation for this kind of programme could be devised by avoiding calling it QE3).

I like it, it's a cool expression:

The euro looks like a puppet being pulled by the strings of a puppeteer called Greece. The belief that a compromise on the issue of getting private creditors to fund Greek debt was a vote of confidence on Friday in the pan-European currency. A joint press conference between Nicolas Sarkozy and Angela Merkel was also positive on the issue. The French and German leaders supported the "Vienna initiative" that would have prolonged the Greek debt with the participation of private creditors. Such measures could help Greece gain time to, for example, restructure its debt after the permanent European Stabilisation Fund kicks in in 2013. However, no definite date was given which dampened the optimism of traders. The weekend did not bring much good news for the euro as the Ministers of Finance at a meeting in Luxembourg postponed their decision regarding the next tranche for Greece until July in order to keep an eye on how the Greek reforms are proceeding. It looks like this topic will worry the markets for a long time to come.

In short, if you say up, you mean up.

The pound killed itself on the edge of the channel...

Eurozone finance ministers and EU finance ministers are expected to meet again today.

A vote of confidence in Greek Prime Minister Papandreou's government is scheduled for tomorrow. Papandreou.

Later in the week there will be an EU summit.

A final plan for Greece is due in early July. EUR 157 billion is already at stake.

In the end quote: "Initially it was clear that the amount and timing of the first aid package is insufficient" (Belgian Finance Ministry). Although Belgium itself is in debt...

Players are increasingly of the opinion that even if the second rescue plan for Greece is accepted, "it can only provide a respite for a few more months until Greece is again faced with the prospect of default or a radical debt restructuring".

The channel is still Friday

Yes Greece is slowly but surely being hinted at to sell off state assets, they are going to crush it...
