" FT article on China buying peripheral European bonds helps absorb EUR stops

" Similar article about China investing NZD$6bn in New Zealand sparked NZD rally

" Regional stock indices up more than 1%

The FT article that China is willing to buy bonds of peripheral European countries came out when players were correcting their positions. The news was "not new", but the market has been selling the euro so hard in the last few weeks that it had forgotten all about it. The stop-loss orders above 1.4135 were absorbed and the EUR rose against the major currencies to cover the short positions. However, there were some selling on a rally near 1.4160. Ranges: EUR/USD 1.4065/1.4175, EUR/CHF 1.2270/1.2349
