Down which pair, I thought we were talking about the yen with SJS, or no? If so, the americans should help the upside.

As for america, it is hard to say, if it will be annoyed by eurusd appreciation, then usdjpy is likely to be in the corridor of last week, I think this is the variable intervention phase, but may fall like in september, although both will probably push eurjpy up is just a guess, the first attempt was bearish (below the price), but was devoured by bulls, but successfully; the second attempt was also bearish but above the price and was easily eaten by bulls.)

The Libyan Arab Jamahiriya has recognised UN Security Council Resolution N1973 on the situation in Libya and has decided to halt all military operations against the opposition, the country's Foreign Minister Moussa Koussa has announced. "We have decided on an immediate ceasefire and an immediate halt to all military operations," Reuters quoted the minister as telling reporters in Tripoli.

"Libya has a deep interest in protecting civilians," Moussa assured, adding that the government of Muammar Gaddafi was also committed to stand up to protect foreign nationals and foreign assets in Libya.

The Libyan diplomat rejected the Security Council resolution, saying it was unacceptable to sanction military intervention in Libya's internal affairs at the international level.

On 17 March 2011, the UN Security Council approved Resolution 1973 providing for the imposition of no-fly zones over Libya and the adoption of "all necessary measures" to protect civilians from the forces of Libyan leader Muammar al-Qadhafi, excluding any form of foreign occupation in any part of Libya. The resolution was adopted by a majority vote at an extraordinary UNSC meeting in New York. Ten of the 15 UNSC member states voted in favour of the draft resolution, submitted by the delegations of Lebanon, Britain, France and the US. Five countries, including Russia, Germany and China, abstained from voting.

According to experts, the resolution gives the right to conduct an international military air operation against Libya. Britain has already said it has begun preparations for an air force operation to impose a no-fly zone in the country's airspace. France and Norway have also officially announced that they will provide their forces for a possible operation in Libya. According to diplomatic sources, the operation would be led by France, the UK and possibly the US, as well as one or more Arab states.
