A flat is the absence of price directional movement, also called consolidation, a sideways movement in a narrow corridor.
A trend is the systematic breakthrough by the price of new levels in one direction, naturally with pullbacks, but pullbacks cannot start a new systematic breakthrough of levels in the other direction. Or is there another opinion?
