1. it has been discussed a hundred times. there is no guaranteed tick history and no one will provide it. a trader's wish is not a broker's opportunity. brokers nowadays even a normal minute history in most cases cannot provide.
2. we have 2 pure architectures that fly in parallel - MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. with MetaTrader 5 being a head start.

You've got it all. The person who needs to use QuotesDownloader can download the glass as well. And excellent tick quotes for bids and asks and with volumes separately on Dukas. If some regularity is observed on such data and it is not adjustment or coincidence, then it may work with some small adjustments on other brokers' data as well.
You just do not need to use MT5 as a research platform, you can develop your TS in other softwares, and then rewrite the final algorithm on MT5.
Research in MT5 is extremely slow and inconvenient, as in MT4. But you can trade.
