You can use bollinger bands. If the bands are too compressed, you avoid the market.

Can you post a screenshot of what you want to outline. Please show me how the system is not working is the situation you just described. Show us some screenshots. Will get a better and clearer idea.

You can use the BBands as a dynamic SL line or you can use recent swing highs and lows.
