Strategies that work - page 22

Oleg Papkov:

There are a lot of strategies here.

The whole thing is not a bunch of strategies, but a bunch of rubbish.

All these developers need to do is ask a couple of questions and it will be clear that these strategies only make money in theory, but in practice the picture is very different.

It seems to everyone that if we set Stop Loss at 25 points (for 4 signs) and Take Profit at 50 points, we will have a profit of 25 points.

And they do not say that in practice probability of SL triggering is 2 times higher than TP and it will result in nothing.

They also do not take into account that if we have a fixed TP value, for example 50 points, there are moments when the price reaches 45-48 points, the TP does not trigger and the price goes in the opposite direction and as a result, the SL triggers.

Anikjon:
How?
How to help

Petros Shatakhtsyan:

So Take should be dynamic and triggered at the end of the current/beginning of the next trend...

Have you tried trailing stop?

aleger:

So Take should be dynamic and triggered at the end of the current/beginning of the next trend...

It's just a matter of finding the end/beginning?

Vladimir Baskakov:

Have you tried a trailing stop?

Tried it, it cuts into profits just like that.

Igor Ryapisov:

Tried it, it cuts the profits just right.

What did you expect? All logical! Trailing stop is just an abstract number, not related in any way to the market ( it's taken out of your hand )... Closing a position should be 100% justified, and the trailing stop mechanism itself is an artificial feature for beginners...

Serqey Nikitin:

Not everyone is a Demo Master like you. No matter how silly the idea is, we test it anyway. But, you are wrong again, trailing helps a little on HFT, but on regular brokers/dts this method is impossible.

Don't be fooled! HFT is a separate song..., you can say it's like a dream: "to become an astronaut"... and not available to mere mortals...

You are, quote, "mushy in the head". When you write your answer, you already forget what you were answering. You need to get it together.
