I see you are struggling with painte with pictures.

It's much easier to do: you right click on the active chart in MT4 and in the menu that appears you select "save picture as..." and choose "active chart".

and you will be happy....

Against the flat, lock and averaging are used, but in general I agree - breakout tactics do not work well when there is no breakout for a long time.
