I started to look into why Komodo missed the virus. I found out that on the Komodo website, in addition to the firewall, there is also Comodo antivirus. Maybe that's the problem? I have only a "clean" firewall installed!

Maybe I need to add an antivirus to it?

Use NIS or KIS - Komodo is rated lower.
Instructions are on the Internet.

Good afternoon. A problem has arisen. I've been suffering since Sunday.

Caught a virus and browsers are starting to close on their own shortly after launching them. Especially in "odnoklassniki", yandexmail, etc. I downloaded Dr.Web's one-off utility and checked it out:

It was harmless! But in 40 mins everything started all over again!

I've been typing these posts for the third time now! Besides just also began to slam Skype, CQG, etc. some programs!

Please advise what can be done? I could not find any advices (except virus scan) in search. Checked with "Dr.Web" again, but no viruses detected...

Read on - it might help.

Try ESET NOD 32, look for an online check there. It's a powerful tool, I checked it myself. I had something similar with the same DrWeb as you. I had DrWeb find a virus in RAM, and it seemed to extinguish it successfully. But on restarting the system the virus would reborn. That's the only cure I had. IT'S NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT, IT'S A TIP FOR A SICK VIRUS.

Leonid, try AVG 2013 antivirus.

I have no questions to his work.

Thank you all. The issue has been cleared up.

It wasn't a virus! On Sunday I decided to call a handyman - to upgrade the memory from 256 to a bigger one. Called the first handyman I saw on the site "from hand to hand". He came and put the memory upgrade to 512. And then he left...

All seemed to work fine at first. Then, i got the problems described above after 25-30 mins. I thought I had caught a virus. Today, my friend and his friend, a specialist on computer, accidentally came over. It turned out that he had added/inserted memory badly mated with the old, - native (which at 256). He removed the old one and left only the added one! It took him about 20 minutes to do something. And all worked very well!

And the power supply will probably have to be replaced after all.

Why?

By the way, when the memory was added on Sunday, it was discovered that the CPU fan had burned out! And it was already one and a half month ago! Actually that's why the computer was lagging - the CPU cooler had been heating up like an iron for the last few weeks...

The fan was replaced too!
