The RAM is not freeing up...

MetaTester processes are eating up 1.2GB of memory each (previously it was always less), and won't release it afterwards.

Configuration:
i7-2600
8GB Ram

Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD5 motherboard

Windows 7 Corporate

Here we go again

The computer slows down terribly at these moments...

Although the CPU is not loaded, not all the memory is drained...

Again, this started recently...

How long do they keep it for?

I know agents keep cache in memory for 7 minutes, then they release it. I can see it in logs too.

The amount of memory being eaten away depends on what kind of tasks and how much history they require, for example.

That's the thing - it doesn't...

GoRo:
That's just it doesn't release...

Well maybe if each next task comes before the cache is reset (i.e. faster than 7 minutes) it weighs as it is used (even if it takes 30 seconds to complete the task), I guess.

And you show logs for last hour, or when slowdowns started.

Хотя процессор не загружен, память отъдена не вся...

Again, it started recently...

Cache from agents, can eat up all the bandwidth of a hard drive, causing the whole system to almost die. My EA, with 7 enabled cores, creates 15 GB of cache.

It does.

Look at memory consumption at test time and after 10 minutes.

How do I limit the cache? I think it's really the cache, as I had an ssd before and didn't have this kind of slowdown.

You could try reducing the swap file or avoid it altogether. The cache itself is not adjustable.
