The State Department clearly knows the history of Russia, and can be trusted axiomatically

During the last 175 years, which Pushkin didn't catch, the world has seen more events and circumstances than a thousand years before Pushkin.

It has nothing to do with the State Department. This is like being guided by the accepted views of the authors of rock art.

By the way, it wasn't too bad either. No pollution, no traffic jams, no computer glitches, sit by the fire, listen to a shaman with a tambourine.
