I'm enjoying watching the development of bipolar. Please don't let this spat stop all the good work.
I was really hoping that this could become an EA to help guys put a few bucks in their pockets, nothing else.
Hi Bluto,
I think you've certainly accomplished that. Thank you!

Awhile back there were threads asking if an EA that can generate long term success could possibly exist.
Goblin BiPolar definitely points the way to that possibility.
Thank you also for the paradigm shift!
David,
I'd guess the only thing you got wrong was how you went about it.
If you want to use JMA indicators to open trades,
If you want to use martingale to cover your losses,
If you want to buy and sell on the same pair,
If you want numerous settings to tweak as you go,
Then, why didn't you write one based on that ?
Why take the coding work of others and decide that you are going to enter it ?
Maybe 'the forum' should enter it ?
I personally don't think it's polished enough to enter.
Anyways, You asked if there were any objections.
You got your answer.

this is what I am talking about here.
It took me weeks of begging. And several forward tests to get bluto to develope "my" methodoligy of seperate majic#'s for buy/sell and allowing it to trade both directions at once.
Bipoler wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my persistance, and my forward tests as proof that it would work.
Bluto's words from the first post.....
Attached is a new version of Goblin named "BiPolar Goblin" based on the trading concept used by xxDavidxSxx of running two Goblins concurrently for the same pair on separate charts - one for buys and one for sells.

TrossI am not a programmer. I am a technical day trader.

Ditto that.
This is all a bit of a shame, but I have to agree with the guy who said that once it's publicly posted you obvously lose control over what happens. Arguing about it now seems a bit pointless. I'm sure what's happening on this thread is but the tip of the iceberg in terms of people mutating the ideas presented.
I do not see goblin being that unique. It is a ripoff of the martingale, 10 points 3 terminater, prediter EA's. Same style of trading. Just some different indicaters used for signal.
It IS unique when someone can understand tradecraft and software well enough to put all the pieces together is such a successful way. If it were easy to come up with something like this, a lot more people would have done it.
bluto's efforts put him among the top EA developers I've seen in four years of being involved with automatic trading.
I have an EA that behaves similar to Goblin_Bipolar, but it evolved from other forum members' trading ideas and coding, folded into some standard code blocks I kept around. A lot of it was "ripped off", though I try to give credit where it is due. All of the best EAs I've seen are not the thinking of one person. It takes some smart trading thinkers and some experienced software people to put the best ones together.
This should do a good job of not letting your equity drawdown become too deep.
I do not use take-profits on this version.
The order closure stuff I originally intended to work, now works.Backtests on H4 look superb !
