I am a 3-years part-time trader.
Fundamentally, I apply Wyckoff trading methodology with modern tools.
Volume spread analysis for Tom Williams, price action, and Renko charts are my ground base of approaching the markets.
I am still in paper trading, however I expect to publish my profitable-educational-free signal by the end of 2017 after completing at least more than 500 trades.

Trading is not easy, but it's not complex.
Practice will polish your skills.
Slight Edge (Turning Simple Disciplines Into Massive Success) is the way to flourish.

"Everything I do is based on actual chart points.
I'm always looking at the swing highs or the swing lows. I never calculate Fibonacci numbers, Gann retracements, artificial pivot points or other things like that because I've never found any edge or any statistical significance from testing them."

There are four basic principles of price behavior which have held up over time. Confidence that a type of price action is a true principle is what allows a trader to develop a systematic approach.

The following four principles can be modeled and quantified and hold true for all time frames, all markets. The majority of patterns or systems that have a demonstrable edge are based on one of these four enduring principles of price behavior. Charles Dow was one of the first to touch on them in his writings.

Principle One: A Trend Has a Higher Probability of Continuation than Reversal
Principle Two: Momentum Precedes Price
Principle Three: Trends End in a Climax
Principle Four: The Market Alternates between Range Expansion and Range Contraction!

I believe my most important skill is an ability to perceive patterns in the market. I think this aptitude for pattern recognition is probably related to my heavy involvement with music.

A successful trading strategy that works with the trend, should be also able to successfully avoid the ranging intervals.

Most EAs work with either the trending or ranging periods and fail in the other!
This is why you hardly find a successful EA or a signal based on a working EA!

Luck strike is not trading.
Trading is doing the same thing over and over again with the same results (profitable).
If you can not repeat it, then it was a luck strike!

Half of the battle is to know in which stage the instrument is:
- Accumulation
- Mark up
- Distribution
- Mark Down

All your indicators and charts should help you know the current stage.

In successful trading volume signals the setup and the price signals the entry.
This is why depending on the price only is not consistently profitable!
All the price indicators and even the price actions are assuming trend continuation or reversals which are not usually/necessarily true.

Conclusion: One dimension is not sufficient.

Trading is all about speculating the movement of the price from a level to another.

If the trader does not know these levels, it will be hard to make profits.
It's not random/stochastic or harmonic movements. The price movements are very deterministic!

New traders' hurdles & traps:
- Low Capital so tight stop losses and less ability for recovery
- Spreads from Broker
- Short time frame trading - very quick and lots of noise
- No Volume for the manipulated Forex
- Being in rush to build the account

Professionals with capital, commission brokers, future trading with volume and professional charting software are the good mix for being professional!
