I have an EA in MQL-4 that I need translated to MQL-5. The entire
code in MQL-4 is under 250 lines.
The major basic components are: Break Even, Trailing Stop, Money
Management and Market Entry.
Market entry uses the high/low of the previous candle as
compared to the current price and uses a moving average as a filter. If any
part of the current candle is within $USER_VAR pips from the Moving Average, do
not trade. Also, buys only above said Moving Average filter and sells only
below the Moving Average filter. So, market entry is very basic stuff.
Break even uses 2 values: #1-
Number of pips into profit at which point the Break Even is activated (if
reached) and #2- The number of
pips into profit beyond the position’s open price where the new stop loss will
be placed.
A classic trailing stop (# of pips). Nothing fancy here.
Money Management is a little different. It uses the result
of the last trade to determine the lot size for the next trade. Money management uses four parameters:
BaseLotSize
LotIncrement
MaxLotSize
BottomLotSize
