I need an indicator that will calculate the slope of price for a particular currency pair. This slope will be calculated using the following formula:
Change in price divided by change in number of bars.
This means that if i'm calculating the slope of price for the previous 5 bars, the 5th previous closing price in history should be deducted from the previous closing price, and divided by 5 which is the number of bars between the two closing prices.
This indicator should then evaluate the calculated slope/gradient against two thresholds that I will specify (Buy Threshold and sell threshold). If the calculated slope is greater than the buy threshold, an alert that specifies the currency pair should print something like this on the screen (BUY EURUSD) depending on the currency the indicator is attached on.
If the calculated slope is less than the specified sell threshold. an alert should print something like (SELL EURUSD)
I should be able to specify the number of bars for which the slope should be calculated for.
The indicator should always be evaluating the slope for the specified number of candles. which means that if a new candle/bar begins, the new slope is calculated between the new previous candle and the nth bar in history depending on the specification.
