ECFX XAU Aurum Velocity is a purpose-built Expert Advisor for XAUUSD on the M5 timeframe. It combines two independent momentum-based entry engines with dynamic trade management, equity-aware volume control and layered portfolio protection.

The EA is designed to identify periods when gold begins moving with genuine velocity, then enter in the direction of that movement while managing every position through a protective stop loss, responsive trailing stop and maximum holding-time control.

The standard configuration is sell-focused, using the Velocity and Channel engines concurrently during a defined broker-time trading window.

Trading Engines

Velocity Engine

Identifies strong directional candles using minimum range and candle-body requirements. This helps distinguish meaningful price acceleration from weak or indecisive market movement.

Channel Engine

Detects price closing beyond a recent multi-bar channel, providing an independent continuation signal when gold breaks through short-term market structure.

Each engine operates under its own unique Magic Number and can manage its own position independently. Under the standard configuration, the EA can hold up to two positions simultaneously—one from each active engine.

An optional Pullback Engine and EMA trend confirmation are also included for users who wish to conduct their own testing and configuration.

Layered Portfolio Protection

ECFX XAU Aurum Velocity contains multiple defensive controls designed to reduce exposure as account conditions deteriorate:

• Daily equity-loss threshold: prevents further entries after the configured daily loss level is reached

• First drawdown brake: reduces new position size when the first peak-equity drawdown level is reached

• Second drawdown brake: applies a stronger volume reduction at the second drawdown level

• Maximum margin cap: limits the percentage of equity allocated as required margin for a new trade

• High-water equity guard: once its configurable profit-activation level has been reached, the EA can close its managed portfolio and lock further trading after the specified drawdown from peak equity

• Persistent protection state: live-terminal safety information can be retained across EA or terminal restarts

The high-water equity guard has a separate activation setting and is not necessarily active from the initial account balance. Users should review this setting carefully before live deployment.

Trade Management

Every new position is opened with a protective stop loss. Once price moves sufficiently in the trade’s favour, the EA begins trailing the position to protect accumulated progress while leaving room for continued movement.

A configurable time-based exit prevents positions from remaining open indefinitely. Optional break-even management and session-end closure provide additional control.

The strategy does not use loss-based martingale multiplication or an unlimited grid. Position size is determined through either fixed lots or equity-reference scaling and is reduced—not increased—when the configured drawdown brakes activate.

The test used equity-reference volume scaling, meaning trade volume increased as the simulated account grew. Monetary results should therefore not be interpreted as fixed-lot performance.

Installation

1. Attach ECFX XAU Aurum Velocity to an XAUUSD M5 chart.

2. Enable Algo Trading in MetaTrader 5.

3. Confirm that the symbol name and broker specifications are compatible.

4. Check that the 15:00–18:00 session corresponds correctly with your broker’s server time.

5. Select either Fixed Lots or Equity Reference volume mode.

6. Test the chosen settings using your broker’s historical data.

7. Run the EA on a demo account before considering live deployment.

8. For uninterrupted operation, use a reliable low-latency VPS located near the broker’s trading server.
