Market rules - page 3

One option could be to have both versions in the product, and let an input selector determine which version you want to use.

Another option would be to implement the product as a library, distribute the library for free as market product and sell the frame-EA that loads the library to use.

This way, the customer can choose the library he downloads and only paying once for the frame-EA.

You get what you want and you can offer the customer what he wants...

EDIT:

I am not sure the second option actually works...

It might be, you cannot upload such a product.

too complicated, just wanted the last version to be available if the product purchaser wanted it. I can off in the freelance so MQL5 can make money and I can offer it through the system

most requests you'll get will be after the fact (purchase -> used at least 1 activation -> realized its not the same as a version they "saw") .They won't like having to pay again , the min in freelance is $30

but it's unprotected that way, you know that, right?

Another option is to tell your customers to keep a backup copy and to replace the file later with the backup. Before you provide the update.

I read on the forum about this possibility, don't know if that works though.

But as a hint, why not ask here directly to MQ:

They actually encourage backups in the rules by users

They actually encourage users backing up older versions if they want to retain them in the rules . (sorry , the heat)

well the issue is the comments cant be deleted showing previous version which has differences

ahh, thx. That's where I have read that...

Yeah but it's better for comments that old to not be altered .

For every "feature" mq deploys they cannot assume everyone will use it with good intentions only.

And they see how the majority of users behave , go to the news feed for instance , it's like reading the SpamTimes newspaper.

No wonder they never went through with linking notifications to the profile posts .

MQ needs to advance the market in a few ways. Upgrades for a product would be great. Like a New price and an Upgrade price, but also the option to buy the older version.

Also demo versions for utilities are currently defacto impossible to provide. Most utilities don't work in the strategy tester.

There is much potential to make things better.

all i can do is be honest and offer the previous version in freelance.

Tons of potential , perhaps that's what the hiring is about .
