MetaEditor Not Found on Mac - page 2

metatester64.exe is the Strategy Tester agent application, not related to MetaEditor.

I am using the Crossover build and don't have an issue with MetaEditor.

Sorry, typo. I ment metaeditor64.exe versus MetaEditor64.exe

Good to hear it works for you! Are you using a Mac with a M-series CPU? On my old Mac with x86 CPU it works fine, however, on my new M2 it doesn't.

I got a PM asking why I am not just using Parallels and Windows 11. The reason is the x86-emulation of Microsoft is much slower than the x86-emulation made by Apple.

I recently did a benchmark in MT5 using the Moving Average example EA in the strategy tester on EURUSD 2010-2023 using ticks:

Platform
x86 Emulator
Duration
Crossover 22.1.1  Apple Rosetta 2  01:52 mins
Parallels 18 + Windows 11 64-bit arm
 Microsoft WOW64  03:16 mins
VMWare Fusion 13 + Windows 11 64-bit arm
 Microsoft WOW64  03:30 mins
UTM + Windows 11 64-bit arm
 Microsoft WOW64  03:59 mins

As you can see, using MT5 using CrossOver directly in MacOS is much faster than running MT5 in Windows 11.

I have only an old one.

Thanks for the data. Hopefully it will work better in the future. Nothing much I can say about the work of MetaQuotes with Crossover. Obviously even if MetaEditor works for me, there a lot of small things which make it very un-practical.
