The city of Frankfurt am Main intends to remove a monument to the euro standing in front of the ECB building, calling it "a symbol devoid of meaning".

Officials have decided that the monument symbolising the euro should disappear from the public space, a spokesman for the city's culture department said. "Unless the European Central Bank takes it with them and puts it somewhere else," he added.
