Spread trading in Meta Trader - page 229

When will you get the results? I want to see it.

rentik, what result are you asking about? Whose result? It's not quite clear.

Leonid, thank you very much for your reply. My broker is forexforyou. I can trade futures there, but I have trouble with the history, I will try the broker you mentioned. I do not know how to trade futures and i dont know how to do it. As far as I understand not through mt4. If you have the time, post the current example of a trade, as you did before. Respectfully.

No problem.

It's not too late to buy HG copper on kickbacks: http://www.procapital.ru/showpost.php?p=1331339&postcount=831 and http://www.procapital.ru/showpost.php?p=1334689&postcount=850

Also relevant to buy on kickbacks of cocoa and orange juice, - http://www.procapital.ru/showpost.php?p=1332973&postcount=839 and http://www.procapital.ru/showpost.php?p=1334075&postcount=848

Similarly work only in buying (on pullbacks) on EURUSD, - http://www.procapital.ru/showpost.php?p=1330679&postcount=826

and on stock indices: http://www.procapital.ru/showpost.php?p=1329863&postcount=822

On the gold-silver spread we work only on sell until the end of the month SELL XAU - BUY XAG = 2^1, see the reasoning: http://www.procapital.ru/showpost.php?p=1329245&postcount=818

And finally, a "purely stock" entry on the horned cattle spread, just beginning to describe it: http://www.procapital.ru/showpost.php?p=1334697&postcount=851

With history - don't make a fuss! You are unlikely to find more than 4 months history of futures contracts in mt4.

The topic has been around for a long time. Does the strategy have positive results or not?

Yes, of course. The results are practical and quite obvious (quote from my "summary" - http://www.procapital.ru/showthread.php?t=46009 ):

"...Last year and a half or two years I was trading on the forum of the company Pantheon-Finance almost on-line with the preliminary (!) description of my arbitrage operations on the contest account in the special thread. My profit made from +5 to +15 per cent almost every month!
I drew weekly results in this branch. Stats, breakdown, etc. are available there: http://www.procapital.ru/showthread.php?t=34876
The very description of arbitrage commodity-fund trading and the explaining charts read (no exaggeration) like a thriller from any page!
---------------------------
Besides on the forum of famous FINAM broker company I have been demonstratively trading on a stock (demo) account for a month in August with a preliminarily (!) description of each entry. I summed up results every week. With expected deposit (initial capital) of 25 thousand dollars - my net profit for August turned out to be +4900 dollars.

=========================

I should only note that I have not yet seen anywhere an analogue of such open, substantiated profitable stock trading, practically online with a preliminary (!) description of each transaction! If you, rentik, have seen it - please give me a link!

Can you tell me how to run such an EA in the tester, and is it even possible?

Do you mean an arbitrage EA? No, such an EA cannot be tested in mt4, because the platform does not support multicurrency testing.

It can be done in MT5, but no one has futures contracts there yet!

However, about a year ago (or so) somewhere in this thread I posted an arbitrage advisor, with the ability to test in mt4. But it had to be run twice, for each specified instrument with a virtual imitation of the second instrument! I should look around in the branch...

===============

Here it is: https://www.mql5.com/ru/forum/122468/page189 - there's a description and tests on 2-3 pages

- By the way, there are some errors in the code. I don't even remember which ones...

Thanks, I'll have a look at it at my leisure.

The links in this forum I think on this subject are to say the least and are multiplying.

The only thing is ... The question is this:

what is the mathematical twist on bringing one graph to another (overlap)?
