There's no such thing as an endless trend...
Let's say 5 pips a day over a long period of time and with an acceptable drawdown is quite possible.
We made an experiment. We downloaded quotes of 10 currency pairs for 8 years into SAS. Played with conditions for a long time. Got several patterns, which we managed to translate into MQL4 code.
No considerable drawdowns have been obtained, but if the TS shows profitability on average on all pairs (including in forward analysis) it is enough to trade simultaneously on 10 pairs and this "diversification" reduces the absolute drawdown to quite an acceptable level.
Of course, we are not talking about a pip and exponential growth of the deposit here, but 100% per year, sufficient for trust management, is quite possible...
