If you are looking for reasons on the chart, you are unlikely to find them there. There was a fundamental reason - the first data from the US election was a surprise victory for Trump. And since his reflationary policies give grounds for an interest rate hike sooner - naturally the safe haven yen overflowed into the dollar.
