If the forest is a square with a small (hardly affecting the total area) slot in the middle of one side, and MM stands in the corner of this slot, then walking on the circle inscribed in the square will come to the other side of the slot and will exit into it. The radius of the inscribed circle is 5km.

Откопал очень даже простую и занимательную игру. Видел похожую, но там была мышь, а не кот. Надо окружить хвостатого со всех сторон тёмными кружочками так, чтобы ему некуда было ходить. У меня получилось раза с 6-го. Как? Получается?
