Purchasing a Product on Freelance and Seeing Reviews

As the customer, why is it I cannot see someone's profile before I decide to work with them to create something (EA, Indicator, etc)? I feel like as the customer I have the right to see ones profile before I work with them. Some of the developers I have worked with are not as good and it is a waste of my time.

Also, what is the purpose of anyone doing a review on someone if I cannot see their review before I work with them?

I have done that before...

Sometimes I do not know if a pre-selected coder is available...they may be on vacation, sleeping, or not available…sometimes I would like the job done asap, so I have everyone view the job so I can have it done fastest.

Again, as the customer, why can I not choose someone based off of the rating they earned? There is no other customer website in the world where the customer gets to see someone's rating after they are committed to buying a product.
