Weekly performance report 09-11-2009 - 3rd week

See attached. Losses this week - many pips are left in the market(floating DD) and let's re-gain those into the account balance next week.

Is anyone here using Alpari UK as their broker, if so do you have any VPS recommendations?.

My live account is with ActivTrades not Alpari UK - so I have no comments.

There are a few users in this thread using Alpari-UK for live account, probably they can tell you more.(if they are reading this!)

Look at the recent ones and you need to balance the most negative comments with the most positive comments.

I'm also looking for a decent UK VPS too...there are 2-3 candidates on my list now, I can tell you more once I made the decision.

 

Yes if anyone else using Alpari UK could weigh in as regards to VPS selections, please do.

Also, if you have any other UK broker suggestions, that would be helpful to. Alpari UK seems to be getting mixed reviews.

 

Weekly performance report 09-18-2009 - 4th week

See attached. This week EJ & UJ showed very low volatility and boring movement. Both signals are still in recovery mode and trying to recoup those floating DD.

On Sept 16, my EJ signal determined SHORT and the calculated TP for all short orders was 132.488. Indeed EJ did fell hard and it just "touches" my TP and then rebound.

I checked the low price for that bar(9/16 12:30pm) is 132.456 (bid), Alpari advertised 3.2 pips, therefore the lowest ask was exactly 132.488! Why my short orders were not executed? There are several possibilities:

1. Alpari did not execute my TP orders

2. They widened the spread

3. They marked-up the bid/ask, I checked MIG feed, the quote for that bar was only 132.45/132.47

Regardless of whatever reason, this is really bad to use this dealing desk broker any more, if it's not such a manipulation my signal would have recoup all the floating DD into profits. Besides Alpari UK feed was down(no connection) on Monday for no reason(other MT4 instance are running fine), and I also experienced regular price re-quote and "trade context is busy" error.

When the recovery is finished and there is no open orders, I'll use MIG feed again.

Just interseste in knowing why you chose MIG, I am testing a few brokers and how the different EAs are doing on the different brokers. Have you tested different brokers and ended up on MIG, og was it purely because they offer scalping and zero comission on neutral positions?

The reason is simply due to slippage consideration.

If you take 2 data feed and compare, you'll see 1-2 pips offset(may be more sometimes).

I have discussed with some of my subscribers, some are neutral, some said they're currently using Alpari account - therefore I decided to switch to Alpari because it's for their best interest with less slippage.

Newdigital also uses Alpari feed for setting up the clone - if buyer, seller and the clone are all using the same data feed it's easier to compare the results.

MIG, has other benefits like zero margin requirement on hedge, and should be used for some many other good reasons if they know how to take advantage of it.

2 large loss orders closed

Hi,

I have had 2 big loss trades realized in my account yesterday and today with the loss in excess of $1000 for just those 2 orders. But neither RAS webpage NOR your MT4LIVE stats page show those orders (in fact they don't show any orders at all since 21/09/09)

Can you please confirm if you have NOT closed those orders in the past 2 days? If not I will need to urgently contact my broker to sort it out with them.
