ValeoFX's Trading Method... - page 8

Well..

Now I say that I look at a different pair and

see clearly a time things lined up perfect on Friday

for a long. Could be just the trend, especially today

hard to find longs to look at so far..lol, but still, if its

ok, would love to see a long or two when you

can get to it-specifically to learn to see the

schaff and plot lined up for a long, agreeing with the

rest of the setup.

Really love the whole setup..everyone has their own

tweaks, its the nature of trading.. but so far

I really like the setup. I just added the tro

cci 5 25 40 indicator and changed it to 5 and 28

cci so I have the exact cci value right next to the

woody like the last xo method revised template

had. I find that helpful at times.

Ok thanks

Brian

Thanks Brian.

So if I understand you correctly, you have no problem identifying the SHORT trades, but have difficulty with the LONGs? Please confirm.

Also, here is the TRO_CCI-28/5 for your convenience.

Best trading for the week.

Absolutely yes

Ok fantastic, thank you.

Yes that is correct. I just am not experienced yet catching the long

trades using the two trend indicators overlay. Just love to see a couple examples.

Thanks again

Ok...

Very nice setup!

Ok now I am very comfortable with longs too, using the plot and schaff

overlay. Thanks!

Quick help please

I have never used the schaff and/or plot stc for real live trading

so I am asking so I am sure of this important question..

Valeo or anyone following this thread who can answer, please help!

Say I want to go short...and both the schaff and the plot stc

are both already at the bottom of the channel... under the 15 bottom

line.. both of them already at the entry I am considering.

Thinking of other indicators, normally this would mean the momentum

is likely exhausted..don't enter if both are at the top of the range

for a long, or both at the bottom of the range for a short. Is that

correct then? OR... if you are going short and both are at the bottom

of the range already at entry...its ok?

Thank you for your help!

Brian

ValeoFX:
Hi guys,

Seeing that we are unable to get the MTF version corrected, I have come up with what looks like a solution and that is adding a second Schaff_Trend_Cycle_mtf set @ 10,15,28.

The first one (PLOT_STC) is set @ 5,8,15.

For convenience, I loaded them underneath each other, but mine runs one on top of the other in real-time.

Look at the 09h45 candle and you will see why we could not have taken the short there.

Please try it tomorrow so that you can get the feel for it.

Best wishes.

Brian, let me answer your question like this: ..........these indicators do NOT reset themselves. Just look back from yesterday's trading and if your computer runs 24/7, during the night and observe what happens.

It depends on your settings, but together with the CCi-setup (paramount) and the Chimp, you should see whether or not it is "safe" - just remember that they are cycle-indicators and your first observation is correct, but do remember that there are "X" number of candles in a certain TF that you are measuring.

Best is to study the setup for a day or 2 until you are completely satisfied that you understand them better. That they are incredibly accurate, is now doubt.

Hope this helps.

This afternoon's M5-entry...

Just thought to show you the entry as requested by GF. Any improvements would be seriously welcomed.

I am waiting to see GF's entry this afternoon too.

Enjoy the weekend guys, you deserve it.

Great Work!

Hello,

Valeo, fantastic work! ..as usual! I have been studying this for the last couple of weeks and am enjoying the results tremendously! Cannot thank you and everyone else who has contributed to make this method what it is today enough. Thank You!

I thought I would post my m5 chart here as I look at it. If you would rather I don't as it is not exactly like yours I completely understand. I do not want to cause any confusion. The only big difference is the Chimp_2 as I am not comfortable with the MTF version and really don't get it yet.. Additionally, I've cluttered things up a bit with 8, 60, & 120 ma's (dashed).

I especially like the 54 levels you have introduced here, they are fantastic for eliminating some of the fake-out CCI crosses; couple that with the corrected moving averages and the trades have been quite reliable. If anything looks out of place on my charts or anybody has suggestions I would love to hear about them!

I generally trade a bit earlier than most hence the entry at 05:50 and it usually treats me ok. Didn't catch the last part of the move as I had a TP just below 4900 but not a bad way to start the day.

Take care,

Ace

....

I also use the chimp2, but I use it as well as the chimp4. I have seen

times when the chimp2 was not as gung ho for a trade as the chimp4

and it was a good thing. But the chimp4 is by far my favorite new

indicator...I really like it.

For me, with the dual setup.. I just use the chimp2 as is without the ma over it

and then use the chimp4 as well as that has the ma over it and is

the one I want to watch in relation to the ma now.

Brian

Valeo sir..

Do you think it would be a big deal to have an alert option added to the chimp 4? What I would really like is like the cci level 54 alarm.. when the histogram reaches +1 we can get a long alert/alert painted on that candle, and when it reaches -1 the same for a short alert. I don't know if others trade this way, but me.. I only take a trade if the chimp 4 agrees and agrees by being at least at +1 for a long or -1 for a short at the time of confirming the trade. Otherwise I dont take the trade... and like the cci overheating, find when the chimp 4 reaches +3/-3 the trade possibly could be overdone.. its a warning level to notice. From my experience live trading so far with it.

thanks for your input.

Brian
