Back test questions

Hi,

When I do back testing, in the Inputs tab, there are 5 columns:

Variable Value Start Step Stop

Does anyone know what's values in Start, Step, and Stop mean?

When I do forward testing, there is only 2 columns in the Inputs tab:

Variable Value

Does anyone know why? where are rest of the columns went? Are they not able to modify and therefore they are not showing?
