Hi Xard.
I trade futures, Do the octaves increase in increments of 19.53125 for Index between 2500 to 10,000
and 195.3125 if the index is over 10,000 eg Hang Seng
You made a calc once in Excel is there any chance you could put up a excel M Math calc for me.
Thanks .......MathsHSI moved 207pips .... 195.3125pips (39.0625 x 5)
try out this spreadsheet...let me know

Hi Xard777,
Nice chart!
Which Octave indicator are you using? Will you share it to give the indicator?
Thanks!
SavvyTraderHere is an octave indicator to use...usdjpy octave.jump setting is -2.
cable octave.jump setting is 0 for now...you will figure it out as you go along.
With timeframes when they recalculate they either expand by doubling the frame size or contract by halfing the frame size, with octaves they expand/contract by simply moving 4/8ths up or down (an octave) at a time.

Hi, Xard777!
today in the morning the octave indicator looked like it is in the pic jpy octave 1.
In the evening, after I switched the charts in between different time frames, it became like it is in the pic jpy octave 2.
Iis this how it is supposed to be?no, it would now be in octave.jump -1 and stay there till broken - see daily chart on right.

Re Octaves
For traders interested in octaves...
Here is an excel spreadsheet showing octaves in the forex markets.
Make sure MT4 is running in the background as price is auto updated from MT4. Also, make sure that dde enabled server is ticked in MT4 tools/options menu.
you can move up/down the octave levels by changing the number in the pink box.
Happy trading

re Octaves
Trading Octaves by Xard777 – a brief description
Murrey says that all markets traded on Base Ten will reverse off 3/8th (37.5%) or 5/8th (62.5%) inside any of his (17) different MM Trading Octaves starting as low as Murrey’s MBA: 0.00152587890625 : Murrey’s Binary Algorithm discovered in 1992-93.
Murrey also uses five Master Squares which are 100, 1’000, 10’000, 100’000 & 1’000’000
I trade cable and use one of Murrey’s Trading Octaves.
Price of cable at time of writing is 1.9623 and my Octave’s 8/8ths is 1.9775 & 0/8th is 1.9287 (0.0488 frame size). To go up or down an Octave I simply move it up or down by 4/8ths.
How is the Octave selected using Murrey’s (17) different MM Trading Octaves?
Here is the answer...
Cable is 1.9623 so we use the Master Square of 100 (red denotes division by eight)
1) 100
2) 50
3) 25
4) 12.5
5) 6.25
6) 3.125
7) 1.5625
8) 0.78125
9) 0.390625
10) 0.1953125
11) 0.09765625
12) 0.048828125 - My Octave’s 8/8th Frame Size
13) 0.0244140625- My Octave’s 4/8th
14) 0.01220703125 - My Octave’s 2/8th
15) 0.006103515625 - My Octave’s 1/8th
16) 0.0030517578125- My Octave’s Baby 4/8th
17) 0.00152587890625 - My Octave’s Baby 2/8th & Murrey’s Binary Algorithm base
Murrey’s Software program searches out the nearest 4/8th – which is number 13) 0.0244140625
How do we find this 4/8th
Simple, the nearest fractal in the list to 1.9623 is number 6) 3.125 (above 1.5625 & below 3.125)
We want to trade two levels below our fractal (which is 3.125/8/8 or 3.125/64)
Dividing 3.125 by 64 would give us our Octave frame size 0.048828125
Dividing 3.125 by 128 would give us our 4/8th 0.0244140625
Therefore 4/8th = (MathFloor(1.9623/(3.125/128))*(3.125/128)) which equals 1.953125 (see 4/8th 1.9531 on chart below)
And 0.0244140625 which we add to give 8/8th = 1.9775390625 or 1.9775
Our 0/8th = 1.9775 – 0.0488 which equals 1.9287
I hope this explains the Traded Octave that I use for cable.

This is great stuff, and I like what xard777 hs done. One question. How can I turn off the alerts? Did anyone see the spikes the last hour? Jees!! Glad i wa out of everything. Reaction to Chinese currency news. Way overblown, and price will probably be right bac where this started come Monday. Someody made some money ad somebody got screwed.
Hi bhale
See if this picture of cable helps...

Any thoughts? What do you think CMS?
Use a stop loss - don't blow your account
Try this spreadsheet....30 trades for the month spreadbetting.
Start with a fund of 500, use a stoploss of 25 and aim for 50 pips.
win or lose, you tend to use only 10% of your actual fund on any one trade.
Only trade one trade at a time, no pyramiding or deviating from the plan.
The spreadsheet is protected so you simply change the pips column & initial fund to suit.
Tis better to take a 25pip loss which you can easily come back from rather than watch your account being eaten up in one go by ones own ego.
Enjoy

Hi Xard777
I've loaded this up, it looks good
Can you answer a question for me re Octaves?
When do they actually recalculate, is it when a new high or low is reached?
Thanks

Hi Xard777,
Is there currently a way to specify fixed date as a starting point from which the price ranges will be calculated, in order to display -2/8 through +2/8 lines? I can see that we can specify the number of days (i.e. 32, 64, 128, etc.) to get the price range, but not the actual fixed date?
You may wonder why I ask this? I have recently had an opportunity to review eSignal's implementation of Murrey Math and that implementation uses that harvest Moon date as a starting point every year, which I think is October 6. It seems to make sense since it eliminates somewhat of a guess game in terms of which time period should be used, which determines where our 0/8 and 8/8 lines end up being placed.
For more information on eSignal's implementation of MM, please take a look at the following link:

Thank you for your help.
