I wish, there is a Lock on a profile, so that i don't move the charts sorting accidentally.

or alphabetical auto arrangement .... !


 

There is no clear method for selecting chart sequence .... click on Ctrl+Tab, and this is what you see. Moving randomly.


 
Will we be able to convert our indicators and EAs from mql4 to mql5? Also, will we be able to load our own indicators onto the mobile version of metatrader5 which is not possible on metatrader4?

Plans for MetaTrader 5 Testing

  1. The platform testing will take about 5-6 months.
  2. This will be a step-by-step testing. New possibilities will be added at each step. During the first testing stage that starts today, the client terminal will work only with Forex. Further we will add CFD, Futures, equities and options.
  3. The current terminal version is offered without a strategy tester. It will be included at next steps.
  4. From November, 2009, we open the testing of back-office components of the platform in brokerage companies.

We do our best to offer you the maximally stable product, that's why the testing process has a multi-step structure. We want to thoroughly check everything before we offer the platform to our clients.

I have very little experience with MetaTrader 4 but I want to develop my own EA.

Should I work with MetaTrader 4 or should I gain experience with MetaTrader 5?

Also I downloaded "mql5.chm" and it responds "Navigation to webpage was canceled".

That is the same problem I have with "mql4bookenglish.chm" and "metatrader4_en.chm".

I am at a loss on how to proceed.

I advise you to develop the EA in MetaTrader 4, at least until the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester is released. The transition from 4 to 5 is not difficult, and in my opinion learning how to use MetaTrader 4 or 5 is only a small part of learning how to develop a profitable forex strategy.

I think the "navigation to web page was cancelled" message can come up when you try to open the help file directly from the download because it cannot create an index. Try copying to your PC first.

- ability to change properties of the selected objects at the same time; say, i want to select 5 trendlines and change all of those selected trendlines colors, styles and weights to other value only at once


- hotkey for trendline object, please; because its most used object and its not convenient to select each time when i want to draw many trendlines; or maybe don't change selected object to pointer after object is drawn, just add hotkey for pointer. it would be better to add just checkboxes to Options->Objects window for this usage


- and, please, "press End button on your code" when zooming chart when chart autoscroll is enabled :-)


those are just waste of time. and time is valuable thing :-D

Got suggestion for Crosshair tool

Let crosshair to show volumes (sum of the volumes in that area) too as below (or maybe to show volumes only when volumes or tick volumes are enabled). this would be very useful and i think crosshair tool missed this feature so far
