metatrader 4

MetaTrader 4 is a premium trading platform meant to efficiently trade in the financial markets which was developed by MetaQuotes Software Corp. and released on July 1, 2005.

By 2015, ten years after the launch, MetaTrader 4 has become one of the most popular trading platforms among brokers and individual traders.

MetaTrader 4 provides services for online trading in the forex, contract for differences (CFDs) and futures markets allowing traders to analyze price, place and manage trades, as well as employ automated trading techniques working from the same account.

With MetaTrader, users can trade, receive quotes and news in the online mode, can control and manage open positions and pending orders, conduct technical analysis, write expert advisors, custom indicators, scripts and functions in MetaQuotes Language 4, as well as test and optimize trading strategies.

Additional Market and Signals services at the terminal are the features traders especially appreciate.

A particular mention deserve automatic trading and analysis tools. When they are activated in the chart window, MetaTrader automatically executes and manages orders based on market conditions and the settings you specified.

Autotrading tools are developed by means of MetaEditor. Through MetaEditor users can import, create and modify expert advisors, custom indicators, scripts and other MetaTrader autotrading tools. MetaEditor is a development instrument. You should be familiar with the MQL4 programming language in order to create and edit autotrading files.

With the syntax similar to C++, MetaQuotes Language 4 (MQL4) has enumerations, structures, classes and event handling. It is used for programming of trade strategies built in the client terminal and has a large amount of functions needed to analyze quotes, manage positions, call technical indicators, etc. Using MQL4, one can write custom expert advisors that automate trade processes and are perfect for implementing traders' own strategies.
