Forex – foreign exchange market, or currency market – is the market where one currency is traded for another. Open 24-hours a day from Sunday evening through to Friday night, it is the world's most traded market, with an average turnover in excess of US$4 trillion per day.

The largest part of the market is made up of currency traders, who speculate on movements in exchange rates, trying to take advantage of even small swings and fluctuations.
