Well, you could make a video and explain the idea with examples that would show the strategy behind the numbers.

WARNING: Spit the dummy message

Over the last years I have bought some EAs and subscribed to a number of signals, and the overall result so far has ended up in in a PayPal transfer from me to someone else, followed by my trading account being wiped out. Yes I have paid money to loose money, not once, but several times.

There are many nice people on this forum, and I know some are in the same boat. Some of us NEED to earn money on forex, some of us don't need the money but just WANT to get money from Forex, and some see the need of others as a FEEDING ground for themselves.

Myself? I have a family with young children. The best way to help my children is not by sitting in front of a computer, donating money into other peoples account.

I am new to this MQL4 world (about 1 year), although have been in Software Development since the 1980s when the Commodore 64 appeared to rule the world. I know more computer languages then I have fingers, and frankly MQL4 is just a derivative of the popular C language with built in financial, indicator and trading support.

For the last year I have prototyped ideas, and built an excellent library that enhances the trading functions provided by MQL4. My template EA covers 12 files, and at the risk of sounding arrogant - I think it is very good.

Thinking and Doing are different things, and when I see signals of 10000% in 4 weeks, and a 2nd signal already at 120% after 2 weeks from the same author, I think to myself, well that is better then I can do.... I will pay him $20, and I can relax, and work on my own stuff.

So I subscribe to from Nothing to a Millionaire. Signals starts with about 10USD, and it is now at 20USD. OK I will throw in 500 euro of hard earned money. When he is at 40000 I'll be at 1 Million. It didn't last and the signal got stopped out 24 hours later. My money nearly gone. He then continues to trade and finishes off the last euros in my account before the signal got stopped out again. And whilst is this happening, I'm scratching my head, 'What are you doing?? - Why?". But I always think they know better.

In all honousty, that signal started with 10 euro, earned 700 euro in subscriptions fees. He earned 690 and all us fools lost our money.

Etiquette says - he should cancel his dead signal - which would return the Subscription Fees. But I expect it will stay there for 1 month and then be cancelled. If you fail you do not charge. You have already cost the customer enough - DO THE RIGHT THINGS, and cancel your signal and return the Subscription Fees.

Over the weekend I had a lot of thinking time. And today, I noticed another new signal, 100% +++ in 3 weeks with already 12 subscribers. 99% drawdown and stopped. Today reconfirmed everything.

I don't do what I know I can do, because of the promises here on this forum. I have seen EAs that do not work, but still continue to be sold, and signals that exceed reasonable risk settings provide great returns for subscribers for 2 weeks only.

So my decision is to concentrate on what I know, and finish off my software with 100% attention. So in about 3 to 4 weeks I will publish my own signal. It will generate good returns, because that is what "I" need!!!!

My disclaimer: Not all signals are bad, Not all EA's are bad. Over the last week I've been trying an EA that looks good.

There are good apples out there!

Trading is fun! I treat it as a business venture, never a hobby.

You start from one small store(account). 1st store doubles it's balance sheet ... then you open a 2nd store(account). Now you have 2 ... then you go on from there.

You don't operate your 1st store(account) without doubling your demo store 1st, to make sure your operations would work out in the real world.

Grid EAs scare me... At least you don't have martingale, but "no martingale" prolongs the grid lifespan.

i hate such results .. 1month backtest.. $5 000 to $1.1m in 1 month -- 1min chart GBPUSD last month... anyways... Grid+Martingale EA .... seems to make lots of money on breakouts... good thing it uses SLs and TPs.. i dnt know whether to believe this even though its a rough backtest...this is not good...

If you have a few coins lying around... and you like EAs... i think the best strategy .. would be to buy your own MT4 Bridge not White Label.. and control your own access to the markets... e.g set your own spreads , prevent re-quotes and off quotes , even set your own leverage without depending on some of these brokers.. IMHO

Thank you for sharing. But when I test this ea for long period - I always get broker stop out at some point of time. Martingale can be really dangerous, I don't think this ea is safe enough for real account.
Osiris
Osiris 2015.03.03
@Dr.Trader... can you try 0.02 lots for every $10 000 equity?
Dr. Trader
Dr. Trader 2015.03.03
Yes, I did another test: last 4 years, 0.01 starting lot. spread=2.0 pip, eur account.

Average profit is 70 eur per month. Max drawdown was 3288 eur. If somebody will use this EA with default settings (except lot, which is 0.01), he should have couple of thousands available for transfer to account in case if huge drawdown will happen again, to suport balance. Great thing that all months are profitable, there are literally no bad periods :)

This biggest equity drawdown happened on January-2013. I don't remember what news happened there, and why they affected eurgbp so much, but there is risk that this can happen again.

0.02 starting lot for 10000 eur is ok too (biggest drawdown 6269 eur), but 0.03 lot is already too much for this balance.

modified EA...giving it for free...use on EURGBP... best of luck... use at your own risk...---> http://ge.tt/1US3WSB2/v/0
