I started with my new VPS about a month ago. So far it has gone well.

I went there because I was told it has a reputation for reliability, although not the cheapest. I have had problems with charts crashing and trades closing in loss. I'm hoping the new VPS smooths that out.

As my prop firm payments grow I will move to a dedicated server.

I love that they give you a way to set up your terminals to start automatically on startup. I used to put shortcuts to the terminals in the startup folder but you need to log in to get them going. With Forex VPS the terminals start even if the server restarts and there is no login. Much more secure

The other prop firm that was approaching payout eligibility took some losses, so nothing to withdraw. Puzzling, as none of the other accounts I run the same EAs on experienced the same losses. I suspect foul play. Why go through the trouble of denying a payout for bogus reasons, when you can fiddle the trades so there is nothing to pay out?

If things turn around and I do get paid,I will let you know.

TCT remains the only prop firm I have faith in. Today I even received a payout from affiliate commissions.

Both of the accounts are Traditional Prop accounts but they have been superseded by other offerings and are no longer available. They each have a target of 5% and pay 50% of the target. Once the maximum capital is reached they pay 90%. Max drawdown is 5%. No daily DD.


I bought a Traditional Prop Junior Associate on 26 February. The starting account size was $750. From my experience, I don't recommend starting with an account this small. I did hit the target twice within the first week but I think I got lucky.

I bought a Traditional Prop Manager on 17 April. The starting account size was $5000. While the larger size accommodates more trades for the EAs I use, surprisingly, this account has reached target less often. I think the larger trade volume left it vulnerable during a drawdown period and it had to do some recovering.

Another of my prop accounts is eligible for first payout on the 7th. If it goes through I will share the links. However, I wouldn't recommend it over TCT. The scaling plan is nowhere near as good. On the other hand, others may prefer the higher drawdown (4% daily, 8% max).

My next prop account acquisition will likely be a TCT Extreme Goat, but that won't be for a while.

EDIT: 5 August,2024. It is part way through the trading day and both accounts have improved:
Traditional Prop Junior Associate: now up by 3% (was 2%)
Traditional Prop Manager: now up by 0.5% (was down by 0.36%)

So both have improved by about 1%.

Alas, I didn't wake to see I had hit the target. However, all accounts are going well.

EDIT: The account reached the target 4 days later.

Last week was a good week. I have been too busy to update until now. I woke on the 17th to see I had hit target on one of my live TCT prop accounts, and my new, scaled-up account details were in my email inbox. I set up the new account in MT5, went to work, came home, sent the invoice, and the money was in my bank account the next morning.

On the 18th I also hit the target for stage 2 of the challenge of another prop account. It took some days to get my live account details but that's running now and already looking healthy. I won't share who they are until I know they will pay out.

My other TCT account is about 0.5% away from the target. Hopefully, I will have a nice surprise tomorrow morning.

Unfortunately, I was one of those burned by Dei Funded. Lesson learned. Do more research and don't jump at big discounted offers.

On Monday I hit the target again on the same TCT prop account. That evening I sent up my new live account details (scaled up 50% again) and emailed my invoice for payout. The money was in my account the next day.

This week I hit the target on one of my TCT prop accounts. The target was reached before I went to bed, and next morning the new live account details (scaled up 50%) were in my email inbox. I emailed the invoice that evening and received the money in my account the next day.

These guys are the real deal. No BS reasons to deny you a payout, and no delays. Hit the target, send an invoice, and get paid. Payments are processed every day. (Maybe not weekends. I don't know.)

To those who ask, of course I use Wim's prop settings files on prop accounts. You just need to adjust for the particular max and daily DD, set randomisation, change the comment and magic number.

That's no guarantee you won't get shafted for copying by prop firms. There are plenty of shifty ones that will still claim you are copying.

Good gains today from gold. Big jump on prop accounts. I checked my 5k TCT account and it looked close to the target, but trades were disabled, which was worrying. I raised a ticket and was told I had hit target and that is why trading was disabled. A nice surprise.

I feel like there's no point bothering with other prop firms, at least for now. However, I still have other accounts making gains so I will see them through and see if they pay out.

My review of The Gold Reaper. (Apparently, it is not displaying for others.)

I am no expert, but I was just asked how long it takes me to pass prop challenges with a particular EA so I thought I would share it here. I have found it varies depending on a number of things, which seem to be the strategy of the EA, size of the account, the particular settings on the EA, and the market conditions.

I have a small TCT account ($750) which hit the target twice in the first week and scaled up to about $1687.50, However, since 1 April there has been no change. Another 5k TCT account I set up last week was up over 1% within a few days. Sometimes you are lucky to catch the moves, other times you have to wait. EDIT 24 April 2024: After about a week, that EA hit target of 5%.

Well, I'm approaching my first payout from a prop firm, and now they are saying I look like I am copying. A friend went through the same thing with them, addressing all the trades in question, but without any positive results.

So far, TCT is the only firm I have confidence in.

A big day for Gold last week. My new 5k TCT prop account jumped up 1%. Unfortunately, it was due to sad events.

I got my trade copier set up. Very smooth. I chose to get the dedicated environment for extra protection, so I'm not sharing an IP address with others.

I'm finding my account with The Concept Trading running The Gold Reaper is not picking up trades when larger accounts do, probably due to the smaller size. I had great gains on a 100k and 6k prop account last Friday, but nothing on TCT (currently about 1.7K) and a live account (about 1.4k). I'm going to get a bigger challenge with TCT, at least 5k. That will also allow me to add Gold Trade Pro and Daytrade Pro Algo.

I've been concerned by all the stories of people getting accused of copy trading who use the same EAs as me. I have been advised to use a copier that differentiates the trades from others using the same EAs.

In addition, I have had four 100k prop accounts plagued by crashing charts that close out the trades at a loss. All the VPS provider could say was that demand spiked and they couldn't handle it. I have left two of them running. One has finally recovered from losses and passed stage 1. I will set up a copier from a master demo to the prop accounts. That should fix things.

I am going to set up Traders Connect to copy my trades. I have heard great things about this service, Hopefully, it will solve my problems.
