Settings

Initial Balance : user specified "deposit" amount

Initial Risk Percentage : user specified percentage of Initial Balance to risk per trade

Profit Risk Percentage : user specified percentage of profits to risk per trade

Stop Loss Points : user specified stop loss distance in points

Operation

Calculate the quantity of profit by subtracting the Initial Balance from the account balance.

Calculate the amount of Initial Balance to risk as the specified Initial Risk Percentage.

Calculate the amount of profits to risk (from step 1) as the specified Profit Risk Percentage.

Add the quantities from steps 2 and 3 to get the total capital to risk.

Calculate the point value desired by dividing the capital to risk by the Stop Loss Points.

Calculate the lot size required for a single position, so that it's point value matches the result of step 5.

Output something to the screen similar to "Trade _x_ lots, Stop Loss _x_ points risks _x_ dollars".

Points are the farthest decimal to the right. Say you had the EURUSD pair and it's price was 1.23400. If you wanted to set a 200 point stop loss on a buy order then the stop would be at 1.23200. If you were risking 200, and your account balance was denominated in CAD, then we would need to divide the distance to the stop loss by the risk capital (200 CAD/200 points = 1 CAD per point). After we know how much a point should be worth for the position, we can call functions in Metatrader that give us the point value of trading 1 lot. Once we know how much a point is worth for a 1 lot trade we divide the desired point value by the point value of 1 lot, and we have the lot size required for your trade.
