•Trend Direction:
•Use 20-period and 50-period exponential moving averages (EMAs) to identify the short-term and medium-term trend direction.
•Use 200-period EMA to identify the long-term trend direction.
•Consider a bullish trend as when the shorter EMAs are above the longer EMAs.
•Consider a bearish trend as when the shorter EMAs are below the longer EMAs.
•Trend Confirmation:
•Use the MACD indicator with default settings (12, 26, 9) to confirm the trend direction.
•Consider a bullish trend confirmed when the MACD is above its signal line.
•Consider a bearish trend confirmed when the MACD is below its signal line.
•Trend Strength:
•Use the 14-period ADX indicator to filter trades based on trend strength.
•Consider a trend strong if the ADX value is above 25.
•Support and Resistance Levels:
•Identify key support and resistance levels using swing highs and lows.
•Use a dynamic support and resistance indicator, such as moving averages or the Parabolic SAR (Step: 0.02, Maximum: 0.2), to identify potential entry points during a trend.
•Entry Signals:
•Focus on breakouts and pullbacks as entry signals.
•When a breakout occurs above a dynamic resistance level (e.g., Parabolic SAR) in a bullish trend, consider it a buy signal.
•When a pullback occurs to a dynamic support level in a bullish trend, consider it a buy signal.
•Use the opposite logic for sell signals in a bearish trend.
•Stop Loss:
•Set the stop loss as the lower Bollinger Band + 2 * ATR for long positions.
•Set the stop loss as the upper Bollinger Band - 2 * ATR for short positions.
•Risk Management:
•Calculate and enforce a minimum risk-reward ratio of 1:2 for each trade.
•Implement dynamic position sizing based on the Kelly Criterion:
–Determine the win rate (W) and the average win/loss ratio (R) from your backtesting results or live trading data.
–Calculate the Kelly percentage using the formula: Kelly% = W - (1 - W) / R.
–Use the Kelly percentage to determine the position size for each trade, adjusting it based on your personal risk tolerance and setting a reasonable maximum position size.
•Exit Strategy:
•Use a combination of technical indicators (e.g., RSI) and price action techniques to identify exit signals.
•Use a combination of the RSI and Stochastic Oscillator for exit signals.
•For a long trade, exit when the RSI value is above 70 (overbought condition) and the Stochastic Oscillator %K line crosses below the %D line in the overbought territory (typically above 80).
•For a short trade, exit when the RSI value is below 30 (oversold condition) and the Stochastic Oscillator %K line crosses above the %D line in the oversold territory (typically below 20).
