$USDCHF is ~ 30 pips away from TP. It's been a pleasant trade bouncing between 0.9360-94.25 and taking profit each time. $EURCAD is painfully slow but with positive SWAPS worth about 2% of the value of the account the patience is easier. #skininthegame http://blackwave-forextrader.com

Nice to finish the week off on a win. 4.5% for February to date. I don’t exclusively trade pairs with positive swaps, just when the trade looks good. The $CADJPY positions closed had 6 times the commission in accumulated positive swaps. Blackwave-forextrader.com #skininthegame

Off the mark with 3.95% for February and a nice $USDJPY profit. $EURCAD began well this morning but it’s drifting a little higher this evening. Still DD is well within risk parameters and the positive SWAPS here are worth about 1.5%. Blackwave-forextrader.com #skininthegame

That’s a massive drop in $EURCAD. A break of 1.4234 seems unlikely today but that would be a useful break of weekly support. In the meantime the #boj news didn’t hurt our positions for long. Back above 131. Back at the desk on Monday.

Decent dollar rally ends the week well for us being long $USDJPY and short $EURCAD and collecting positive SWAPS. $USDJPY has had a good rally taking out this weeks and last weeks high. If this is a trend change there’s plenty of upside. Lots of room for a $EURUSD correction.

Our $EURCAD position is benefiting from a strong Loonie but also a slightly weaker Euro. Further $EURUSD weakness will definitely help the $EURCAD trade. I've collected 1% (1.8K) of my account balance in positive SWAP's too. Withdrew €6K during the week.

$USDJPY well off the lows at 127.22 is now threading 130 thanks to a stronger Buck. It's net positive SWAP's are contributing to the 1%. It's done well in an otherwise downtrend. A break and hold above 131 would be useful, but hedges are in place just in case. #skininthegame

Cash higher this week due to closing profitable hedges. It demonstrates the new safety features of Blackwave Algarve and the cash increase is nice but incidental with risk control being the most important news. Almost 3% for January so far.

$EURCAD influenced by $EURUSD which itself is reflecting the recently weakening greenback. Overbought now at 1.08 just as it was oversold at 0.96. There's simply no point adding another $EURCAD position so close to the last. Positive SWAP's accumulate.

$USDJPY also a recipient of greenback selling. I've spread these positions wide. Eye on next Tuesday's #BOJ meet and some rumours of a less dovish tone hence I will keep the small hedge going into Tuesday and see. If $USDJPY rises the hedge is easily paid for. #skininthegame

2.46% so far for January. The theme this week as been dollar strength hence profit on our short $NZDUSD positions and now correlated short $EURCAD trades improved to a 5% DD helped by strong CAD unemployment data today.

I'm watching $EURUSD more generally as a theme for other trades and on weakness I began adding long $USDJPY trades today. I see it briefly traded below 1.05 but further $EURUSD weakness helps our two baskets. Hoping to get Algarve above €200K in January from €164K in September.

I added another $EURCAD position yesterday but we will probably have to let thin holiday markets pass to see action next week. Happy New Year from Portugal. I wish you everything you wish for yourself. Focus more on dreams and less on fear in 2023.

I’ve taken off the $EURCAD hedges as the DD drops towards 10%. They have added about 1% so far in December. Usefully $NZDUSD is rolling over & if we get the chance over the holidays it has the potential to advance the cash nicely.

Hi 👋. 12th up day in a row for $EURCAD since becoming overbought daily, now sits at RSI 87. DD is about 17% so that’s the new position sizes and distancing working. The hedges were used to reduce risk, increase cash and improve equity.

I’m not keen to sell more $EURCAD until I see a technical break. $NZDUSD had a nice technical break lower so hopefully this is the swing lower we are looking for. 2 positions in profit so far.

The only issue here is the holiday period and barring a major event the drying up of market participants and liquidity and lack to committing to major moves. Stay warm if you’re in Europe. This was the scene in Budapest earlier this week 🥶

$EURUSD has been ranging from about 1.0460-1.0560 for a week hence our two positions are doing something similar. Next week sees #ECB and #FED rate decisions and some price action.

As per the new Algarve strategy there’s a small hedge on $EURCAD. This is because of a 10% DD. The grid will continue to hedge up to 1/3 of the position also on a grid, IF the DD reaches 35-40%. This is a new safety feature.

A 6% advance in cash in November. I’d like to get the cash above €200K in the next few weeks but safety is most important. You may notice I’m less inclined to sell into rallies. Patience patience.

Strategy and position size are most important. That said $NZDUSD may be attempting a swing lower high vs Aug 0.6468. $EURCAD more complicated but taking leadership from $EURUSD too. I am hoping for one more win for the books in November towards 6.5-7%.

All trades closed for now. Back to cash. 6.11% for November has beaten October’s 5.99% with a few days to go still. Those who never withdraw get exponentially compounded returns but all of your money is always at risk. Some withdrawals are healthy.

Not much point in jumping into anything new on a Friday afternoon. Long $USDCHF into the weekend with a 0.02% DD, a 1% week and 5.77% growth for November so far. There should be more in $USDCHF in the coming sessions.

4.66% gain for the month so far which is not bad for just the 11th of the month. BIG $EURUSD wins yesterday . I began Blackwave Algarve with €164K while on holiday in Greece a month ago. Current #skininthegame €180K. Puts me on track to give another €10K to
St. Kevins boy school.

Quiet enough ahead of #NFP. We’re just in one basket $EURUSD, and six positions into it using lower position sizes. DD about 3%. In case of a further decline today I will not be adding more positions until I see stability.
