Hello, im looking for a general news filter that can be applied to stop and enable EAs during News.

I´m not sure if it is possible with MT4 but there is an article about a switch to disable trading operation of EAs to be found here https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/151395

It is about this command:  PostMessageA(main, WM_COMMAND,  MT4_WMCMD_EXPERTS,0);


The EA should basically turn the switch on a news event and then wait using a sleep timer (not react to other news during the time sleeping) and turn the switch again when the timer runs out.

The EA itself should still continue to work according to the article because only trading operations are stopped not the EA. I guess it needs to be tested first.

 

The available options in the EA should be:

- Turn switch X minutes before news / Wait X minutes (before turning again)

- Specify the currencies for news filter

- Only high impact / medium and high impact

- Delete all pending orders after switch is activated (one time)

- Close all open trades after switch is activated
