Farmers burn Merkel effigy at anti-trade deal protest
Protesters have burned an effigy of German Chancellor Angela Merkel outside the European Commission building in Brussels.
The demonstrators, including farmers on tractors, are opposed to a proposed trade deal between the EU and the US, the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), which they fear will impact on food standards.
The protest was meant to coincide with the second day of an EU summit, but most of the European leaders had already left the Belgian capital.

AUD forecasts:
GS now sees AUD/USD at 0.83 in 3 months, 0.81 in 6 month, and 0.79 in 12 months.
Why stop at 0.79? “At 0.79, the big dislocation between the deterioration in Australia’s terms of trade and the AUD will be closed on our estimates and the market already discounts at least one cut from the RBA,” GS argues.
