Choosing a broker?

Hey, about to take that step for live trade but to be honest the thing I have found most challenging so far is selecting the right broker. Not sure if this is really the space for it or not (if not my apologies) but would like some unbiased/informed opinion on brokers to look at. Standard priorities

Ask Price displayed different from traded?

I have been testing MT5 with Pepperstone for the last couple of weeks. Generally been fine but I have noticed this happen twice now. This is example of first time. I placed a buy order 16 minutes into the new day and instead of giving me the buy price that was listed it bought way above the price
