Build on the very succesfull Goldtrade Pro, this EA has been designed to run on multiple timeframes at the same time, and has the option to set the trade frequency from very conservative to extreme volatile.

The EA uses multiple confirmation algorithms to find the best entry price and runs multiple strategies internally to spread the risk of the trades.

All trades have a stoploss and takeprofit, but also use a trailing stoploss and trailing takeprofit to minimize the risk, and maximize the potential of each trade.

The system is build on the very popular and proven strategy: trading breakouts of important support and resistance levels.

Gold is very suitable for this strategy, as it is a highly volatile pair.

The system auto adapts the trade frequency and lotsize based on your accountsize and your max allowed drawdown setting!

Backtests show a very stable growth curve, with very controlled drawdowns and fast recoveries.

This EA has been stress tested for the longest available period for Gold, using multiple pricefeeds for various brokers, and nothing seems to be able to make it fail.

Backtesting:

Simply run on XAUUSD using default settings, or change the max allowed drawdown to your preference. You can also change the trade frequency manually to see the different results. Timeframe of the chart doesn’t matter.

Parameters:

ShowInfoPanel -> display the information panel on the chart
Adjustment for Infopanel size -> in case of 4K display, set value to "2"
update infopanel during testing -> disabled for faster backtesting
Trade Frequency: allows you to use different setups from the EA, going from very conservative trading frequency to extreme trading frequency. By default, it is set to "auto", which means it will use the account balance, and the Max Allowed Drawdown to determine the trade frequency. When using "StartLots", you MUST set the trade frequency also manually!
Maximum allowed spread: maximum spread for pending orders to be allowed
Friday Stop Hour -> if you don't want trades to be hold over the weekend, set a value between 0 and 23. (25 means "disabled)
SetSL_TP_After_Entry -> enable only if your broker doesn't allow pending orders with SL and TP
Use Virtual Expiration -> enable only if your broker doesn't allow pending order with expiration date
Randomization -> this will randomize the entries, exits and TrailingSL values a bit, so that multiple users on the same broker, will have a bit different trades. Also good for prop firms. Good value is "50"
BaseMagicNumber -> the base magicnumber that will be used for all strategies
Comment for trades -> the comment to be used for the trades
Lotsize Calculation Method -> here you determine how the lotsize should be calculated: Fixed lotsize (Use StartLots), Or use the "Max Allowed Total Drawdown
Startlots -> set the value for fixed lotsize, when that option is chosen. This parameter will be used as "minimum lotsize" when using any of the other 2 options for lotsize calculation
Max Allowed Drawdown -> The prefered maximum allowed total drawdown (in %). The EA will then determine lotsize based on the historical max DD of the EA
Set Max Daily Drawdown -> Here you can set a maximum allowed daily drawdown (in %). If it is reached, the EA would close all trades and pending orders, and wait for the next day. This is usefull for prop firms
Use Equity instead of Balance -> use Equity of the account to calculate all lotsize values
OnlyUp -> this will prevent lotsize to decrease after losses (more aggressive but faster recovery after losses)
EnableNFP_Filter -> turn the NFP filter on or off
AutoGMT -> let the EA calculate the correct GMT offset for your broker, so that the time of NFP will be correct
GMT_OFFSET_Winter -> for setting the GMT Offset manually in the wintertime (when AutoGMT is off, or during backtesting!)
GMT_OFFSET_Summer -> for setting the GMT Offset manually in the summertime (when AutoGMT is off, or during backtesting!)
NFP_CloseOpenTrades -> force the EA to close all open trades when NFP starts (X minutes before NFP)
NFP_ClosePendingOrders -> force the EA to delete all pending orders when NFP starts (X minutes before NFP)
NFP_MinutesBefore -> how many minutes before the NFP event, to close trades and pending orders
NFP_MinutesAfter -> how many minutes after the NFP event, before the EA resumes trading again

As I am new to trading with an EA robot, my questions were probably annoying. I have had the Reaper running for about 20 days now, and despite a bad series, I am up 6.7%. This week I also purchased Gold Trade Pro and received the rest of the EA for free. So now I have the Reaper/Gold Trade Pro/Daytrade Pro combo running for better and more consistent results. After a long examination of various EAs, this one seemed the most transparent and potentially profitable and consistent in the long run. EA is good, I panicked in the beginning as i had a drawdown of almost -18% (using Reaper + GoldTradePro, medium risk), the recovery was quick and powerful, currently at 3% drawdown, i'm sure soon enough i will be in profits and the drawdown will be over, patience and emotional stability are required for Wim's EAs, don't judge too quickly.

It's worth mentioning that Wim (the author) is a transparent and honest person, he knows what he's doing and always supportive.

After a few weeks of running it on a live account, The Gold Reaper does what it is expected to do. The results are in sync with the live signal and with backtests. Running the Reaper with too high of a risk made me experience some losses overall. However, I know that in the long term the accounts will grow. For those who are used to grid and martingale systems, the experience of losses might be too much. Grid systems collect the losses and hide them in DD. However, sooner or later there's going to be a significant loss, and some might lose their accounts. However, this EA is different. It might sound strange, but what I like about the EAs from this developer is that they make you face your losses the minute they occur (every trade is entered with TP and SL). Once the hit is taken, you can move on to the next win or loss, but there's no uncertainty about ever getting back on track. If you like EAs that have solid data to back up their performance, then Wim/Profalgo's EAs are excellent candidates. There's also a lot to learn from the developer's community here on MQL5. The audience and Wim are respectful to one another, and Wim is always there to help and inform fellow members.

Perhaps a bit unfortunate as the gold market ranged and did not break through like February and March '24. This EA works poorly with false breakouts (which happens often) because it fills up and then hits the many SLs. Wim argues that you should look at it in the longer term, but that needs to be proven because gold is mainly driven by Smart money/Big Banks that look for easy liquidity around the resistance levels. So this EA trading behavior will happen a lot more if the EA is not adjusted correctly. People should consider to follow Wim's live account for a while and not buy too quickly...

I don't understand however, is that you liked the backtest with its ups and downs (because that is why most people buy an EA), and then, if the EA trades almost 100% as in that backtest, with the same ups and downs, suddenly, those losses are unacceptable? How can you expect only profits from an EA? These are not holy grails I'm afraid. The EA did almost a straight line up in profits since its launch for 3 months straight. Now it is having a normal(and rather small) drawdown. What is not according to backtest here? I mean, I really don't get how you made the analysis? What exactly is the EA doing differently than in the backtest? nothing, I can tell you, because I run backtests to check it every week. It's perfectly in line with the backtest. I told this many times in the public chat as well: the main reason why people don't make any money in EA trading, is because they have no idea what to except. For some reason, they believe that from the minute they press "play", the money will come pouring in. I don't know where this idea comes from? I'm very clear in my product description, that the EA is a "real" trading system, with ups and downs; But it is the only way to be profitable in forex long term. If we can't accept the drawdown periods, we best not trade at all I believe. Because we would be pouring our money in every next "holy grail", until all is gone.

Sorry to hear that the product was not for you. The product is however performing exactly like in backtests and losses are to be expected from time to time in trading. this is a real trading system that does not use martingale or grid or any risky trading style. that also means that trades have a stoploss, which can be hit if price moves against the position. But again, the EA is performing perfectly in line with the backtest since launch and is up quite nicely with low drawdowns so far (as can be seen on the live signals). MQL5 does not give refunds once a product is bought, and certainly you can not expect refunds if the EA is performing perfectly in line with the backtest.

This is my 5th month running the Gold Reaper and I think this EA is underrated and maybe even underpriced compared to others here on MQL5. I usually see this kind of profit with grid/Martingale EAs that will eventually blow your account but this is not the case with this EA. My personal experience with support has also been very positive. I asked for the margin calculation of the EA to accommodate accounts with BTC as the base currency and the developer fixed it in a new release on the same day. To me, this is money well spent.

I used to like this EA very much, but the results of the last few times have been very bad, resulting in a big loss. I used to think that the author was a professional who was relatively rational, capable and willing to make a good EA, but later his behavior made me realize that he was just a cult leader. In his group, no one is allowed to criticize his EA. If someone says something that is inconsistent with his meaning, they will inevitably be criticized by the brainwashed people in the group, and then the author will kick you out of the group. Obviously, this author is not a good person, he just wants to sell as many of his EAs as possible, and this EA is still a scam.

Excuse me? are you for real? is this candid camera or something? My group is one of the only truly open public chat groups for any EA's on MQL5. I kicked you out because you were being insulting other clients of mine. you were simply abusive. I can not tollerate that. And this review is filled with lies as well. Where do you see a big loss? If 3% loss is big for you, then forex is really not the right place for you I think. Max Drawdown on the live account is still less than 5%. Where is that big loss?

If the update button is not there, simple delete the EA from the MT5, and then install again from the market. It will be version 1.5
