Specification
I would like to see drawdown plotting in a spreadsheet - live - as strategy backtests are performed.
i.e. load EA, press go and as it trades in strategy tester - the EA will make calls to the spreadsheet and keep it up dated as to balance, drawdown etc. So it ought to be easy to tab between the two applications.
Backtesting in 'visual mode' with 'pause' ought to be allowed and the spreadhseet ought to be updating live.
I am looking for a developer who can use "named pipes" or "mt4i - quickchannel"
I am looking for a developer who can reset everything in init() so if strategy tester is stopped and restarted then the spreadsheet will just reset itself in the background.
I am looking for a developer who has his head around the different types of DD and can deliver a good job and plot many different DD's.
( ie. if they exist - the absolute DD, the relative DD, the DD from open, the DD after close, the basket DD etc. ) (like i say - if they exist!!!!!!!)
I am looking for a developer that can ensure that many longs and many shorts are netted out in these DD's.
I am looking for a developer that can create a chart that scales properly so meaningful data is visible. i.e. as balance grows the scale should change so that the chart will show DD in a clearly visible manner.
i.e. the value of the DD in Absolute Dollars and Absolute pips and Relative Dollars and Relative Pips ought to be visible on the line or on a label. etc.
Finally, although you may be developing under windows and MSExcel, bear in mind that I am using Linux and Wine to run MT4 and using LibreOffic Calc.
ie. I am confident that a MT4/Excel solution can be ported across to LibreOffice with ease - as wine is like Windows and LibreOffice has many features.
But I am also certain that if you are already on Linux, that creating a LibreOffice solution will be fairly straightforward and very comparable to MSExcel.
Some notes on the topic.
i) I have noticed that an mql5 strategy report has 4 entries for DD, so look here for ideas.
ii) I have noticed that myfxbook does some good charts re: DD, so look here for ideas on charting presentation.
iii) I have noticed that mq4 will show DD better for some EA's but under particular circumstances. e.g. if there are many open positions or a basket of shorts and a basket of longs or something like that, so this is an opportunity to improve on the charting.
iv) I have noticed that some mq4 code is around that approximates the strategy backtester results. But also noticed that much of the results vary slightly , so you could look here for ideas.
On the one hand - it ought not be too complex to plot trade history and current balance and work out the different presentations of DD.
On the other hand - you may come to the conclusion that the charting cannot be done properly without going to a solution that incorporates Mono and Infragistics controls.
So please leave a response on how confident you are that you can accomplish this task - or if the job needs to be broken up into pieces.

This is a mq4 project, not mq5, sorry about the mislabel
