Metatrader 5 for Mac

Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue with MetaTrader 5 on my MacBook Air M1 running macOS Sequoia Version 15.1.1. While the installation process completes successfully, the application fails to launch when I try to open it. Interestingly, MetaTrader 4 runs without any problems on the same device.

Here are the details:

  • Device: MacBook Air M1
  • Operating System: macOS Sequoia Version 15.1.1
  • MT5 Version: Latest
  • MT4 Status: Successfully installed and running

What I’ve Tried So Far:

  • Reinstalling MT5 multiple times
  • Restarting the MacBook
  • Checking for updates for both macOS and MT5
  • Ensuring that all security settings allow MT5 to run

Despite these efforts, MT5 still doesn’t launch. Has anyone encountered a similar issue or has any suggestions on how to resolve this? Any troubleshooting tips or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your help!

На Макбуке с М1 после обновления тоже не запускается и пишет такое На Маке надо удалить старую инсталляцию на Wine 6. а МТ5 перестал запускаться после обновления до macOS 14. Сейчас официальная последняя версия MacOS Ventura 13

Thank you for your input. However, I'd like to clarify that MetaTrader 5 is a native application designed specifically for macOS, especially for Apple Silicon (M1) Macs. Therefore, it shouldn't require Rosetta 2 or any other translation software to run properly on my MacBook Air M1 running macOS Sequoia Version 15.1.1.

I've already ensured that my system meets all the necessary requirements and have tried reinstalling MT5 multiple times without success. If you have any other suggestions or insights that are specific to native MT5 installations on M1 Macs, I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thank you!

Incorrect! MetaTrader 5 is a pure Windows application for x64. It will always require some kind of virtualisation or emulation on other systems.

The version supplied for the Mac is just a wrapped version that sets up a convenient virtualised environment for you, but that is not to say that it is the best solution.

Many users have suggested that a better solution is to use Parallels Desktop instead.

Does MT5 work on the new Macs with the M1 and M2 chips ?

I'm using Parallels Desktop to run MT5 on my M1 Mac, and it works like a charm for coding, trading, and with market products.
Here are some details I posted in another thread
