Question on Expert Advisor en VPS

I use an expert advisor on a rented VPS. Is it necessary that 'Algo Trading' is enabled in MT5 on my personal computer?

I read somewhere that an EA on a VPS is always active, regardless if algo trading is enabled of disabled. Is this true?

If I enable algo trading on my personal computer, could my broker's server receive double, or even opposite, orders?

No, you should not enable Algo-Trading locally if the same EA is already running on the VPS.

Are you referring to the MetaQuotes VPS service or a 3rd party VPS? If it is the MetaQuotes one, then yes. If it is 3rd party, then no, you would have to set it up yourself.

Yes, you will get double trading and other complications, if running the same EA at both locations.

Dear Fernando,

Thank you for your reaction, I appreciate your remarks. It is all clear to me now. The EA seems to be working on the VPS, but not on my computer. So, hopefully it will not longer make incomprehensible trades.

Kind regards,

Arjen

Dear Eleni Anna,

Thank you for your response. It is all clear to me now. By the way, does 'moderator' mean that you are employed by MetaQuotes?

Kind regards,

Arjen

No, it simply means that we are normal users (just like you) who have been selected and allowed to moderate the forum. We are not employees, nor are we paid.
