No! You would need to create a new demo account. Instead, do the following ...
Ask your customer to create a demo account with their broker for both of you to use for shared testing purposes. That way you will be able to test with the same conditions and contract specifications and make it easier for both of you to share information of each other's testing.

Thanks, Fernando. I never would have thought of that, and didn't.👍
Just an update for other residents of the United States of FIFO...
I see that an MQ help page says that "[a]n unlimited number of demo accounts can be opened in the platform." As my code development process is generally circular from prototype to final executable, I decided not to share my untested prototype with my customer which could go poorly. I actually opened a 2nd demo account. As it turns out, MT5 now allows the user to select or deselect Hedging during demo account creation. (I've had a single demo account for years.)

I stopped using MetaQuotes demo accounts more than a decade ago. It's unreliable for proper testing.
Instead, I just open demo accounts with different brokers that offer the assets or conditions I wish to test out. They are more reliable and the tick data more realistic.
Also, you don't need to share your prototype with your customer right away. Asking for a demo account to be provided to you at the beginning is my "standard operating procedure".
When starting a job, I usually make this request and I have never been refused. It is after all in the customer's interest that the EA will work correctly for them with the conditions they are using.

Thanks again, Fernando. Me being me, and not you, I will likely reserve what you suggest as my 2nd stage of testing. I'm dealing with a consultant who has clients with specific expectations. I'd like to deal with them again in the future.

When I first registered my MQ Demo account in the MT5 Beta platform, it was set to Hedging mode. Shortly after registering, MQ switched it to Netting mode likely because I'm in the U.S. where live hedging is prohibited. Obviously, I'm only using the Demo account in MT5 Beta for development and testing and live trading is not possible therein. I now have a need to demo test a trade stacking/pyramiding EA that I've coded for an overseas customer who is in "hedging land," and doing it in Netting mode is irrelevant.
Can MQ switch my MQ Demo account back to Hedging mode? If so, is this a Service Desk issue?
