System hangs when optimizing with agents

Hello.

I am running the optimizer on my laptop and I have agents linked to my PC.

I just bought a new motherboard and cpu with 12 cores.

When I start optimization, Windows on my pc starts to hang even when I only use 6 agents.

The cpu is around 2%-5%, the ram is ok and it's running on a disk that doesn't have the OS installed on.

Yet when I try to open windows programs or even task manager it can take several minutes to open, unless I stop optimizing with the agents.

Did anyone encounter this?

My new CPU is Intel core i7-12700KF

Probably the hard drive. Seems to be maxed out.

I'll try installing on an M.2 drive

Yes, hard drives should never be used as a system/program drive; always use a SSD or NVMe.  However, if the test is bogging your system down to the point that it takes several minutes to open Task Manager, this suggests that your system doesn't have enough RAM; the hard drive issue is secondary at this point.  A system with solid state storage (particularly for the page file) would be better but still slow.  Plan to allocate 3-4 GB per installed agent.  48 GB of RAM would be a good place to start with your system.
