You can trade based on a certain criteria of previous candles but not the current candle. In the reality of the moment there's an order book with BID and ASK prices, and you can only get into the market on those prices based on the fact that the candle/bar is not yet completed. And not to mention...there's also a broker spread you have to abide by, so your position is pushed down a few pips when the EA executes a sell position, and the position is pushed up a few pips when it executes a buy position
